Last year
designers set up a bar at the
entrance to the Pittsburgh
Center for the Arts.
Patrons
who ordered drinks had their
driver's license scanned by a
bar-code reader. The designers
combined the data from the bar
code with other information and
gave a receipt to patrons with
the info, including a map
showing the location of the
patron's residence. The map was
displayed on a monitor (seen in
back) mounted behind the bar.
